# listindex > An index of open-source mailing lists (lore.kernel.org and friends), built > for agents as well as people. Free, no accounts, no API keys. ## Bulk data Please do not crawl for many messages; take the bulk data instead. Egress here is free, so this is cheaper for you and for us. - /dumps/latest/messages.parquet every message, structured - /dumps/latest/threads.parquet threads, series and trailers - /mirror//git/.git the public-inbox git epochs, clonable Query endpoints are rate limited to 200 requests per 10 seconds per address. The bulk paths above are exempt. ## If you want to query - /t/ a thread, quoted text stripped, bot mail labelled - /m/ one message - /s//v a patch series, one version - /path/ everything posted touching a file or directory - /commit/ the review thread behind a commit - /search?q=... search; supports path, author, since, provenance - /mcp Model Context Protocol endpoint - /status.json what is currently indexed, and how far behind Append .json or send "Accept: application/json" for machine-readable output. ## Conventions - Responses carry a "complete" boolean. A timeout returns a partial answer rather than an error; retrying it will not help. - Every result carries a stable citation URL. - Messages carry a provenance label (human, syzbot, kernel-test-robot, patchwork, ci, ...) so automated mail is not mistaken for discussion. - Cursors are opaque. There is no offset pagination. ## Compatibility The lore.kernel.org URL space is mirrored, so a Link: trailer from a kernel commit resolves here by changing the host, and b4 works unchanged: b4 --midmask 'https://listindex.net/all/%s' am
